Frequently Asked Questions
There are many options when it comes to a new roof. Some of these options are the types of materials used, design, color and whom you choose to install your roof. Gibson Roofing installs many types of roofing materials. We can help guide you through this process. This page may help answer many of your questions, but please call us with any questions you may have, we would be more than happy to answer them.
Gibson Roofing is committed to protecting the environment. We are dedicated to recycling all construction and roofing materials as well as minimizing waste by reusing materials whenever possible.
Our goal in roofing your home is to leave the house the same way we found it, except for the new roof. We take great care in covering your plants and other yard features, but accidents will happen. Please take care to remove all breakables and other valuable items out of harm’s way. This will make the work process easier and protect from potential issues. Keep in mind that the process of tearing off and installing a new roof is hard and dirty work. Vibrations from replacing the roof tend to create dirt and dust in attic spaces and open ceiling buildings. Remove or cover any items that may be harmed by this debris.
The length of time it takes to complete a roofing project can vary based on the size and complexity of your project. Fill out our estimate or contact form so that we can get details for you roof project. We can then estimate how long it will take us to complete your project based on your specific needs. Once a contract has been agreed upon your job will be entered into the schedule and will be started in the order it was received. In an attempt to maintain a regular work force and satisfy our customers’ needs we try to keep a schedule that is no more than two weeks out. Weather can affect the schedule tremendously in this northwest climate. Usually, we are able to combat most conditions simply by using tarps when it is raining. We are able to complete 90% of our jobs within two days of starting them.
Our references page contains addresses and phone numbers of various clients we have installed roofs for in Oregon and SW Washington areas.
Local distributors have display boards on the exteriors of their buildings presenting the various manufacturers products they carry. The displays will have the material types and color choices available for each manufacturer. Most displays are accessible after hours, but you may want to call ahead. Our certifications page lists several of the companies we work with. Many manufacturers have extensive web sites featuring their particular products and color choices. Keep in mind that your computer screen may not accurately depict the color of the finished product.
Gibson Roofing is a certified installer of IB Roof Systems (iblink). Which sets us apart from other roofing companies in that we can install not only IB, but any other single ply material as well. *fire resistant material is available.

The cost of hiring a professional can depend on several factors, including the scope of the project and the materials chosen/needed. It is not possible to quote an estimation of cost to repair or replace a roof without first seeing it. There are many factors that make up the cost of your new roof such as: steepness, accessibility, type of material, layers on the existing roof, amount of dry rot, and a number of other details (ex. chimneys, skylights, etc.) Gibson Roofing makes it easy for you to get a quick estimate on your project by filling out our form.
Yes, we will provide you with a free estimate. Please click here to contact one of our estimators via email. We will be happy to schedule an appointment for you at your earliest convenience.
If your roof is leaking, you may not need a roof, it could be a simple fix that could take only a few minutes. If your roof looks like it needs to be replaced, it probably does. Symptoms of missing, curling, torn or warped shingles are just some of the signs that your roof is running out of life. Roofs are like car tires; once they start to go bad it’s good to replace them before there are bigger issues to deal with.

Michael (Google Reviews)
“ I came into this with predilections as tenebrous as pitch. I just found out Gloria had been shamelessly defrauded by another roofer. Gibson exceeded all my expectations. It still is a beautiful, thick, well made roof over five years later. One Of The Best Contractors I Have Ever Dealt With.

“EXCELLENT JOB. In March 2016 Gibson Roofing did a complete tear-off and roof replacement within 3 days, and it was done to our satisfaction.
Aaron was very thorough in assessing the roof situation, and very accommodating in scheduling the job to fit our time frame. He was the only estimator who actually went up inside to attic to check out the roof from inside. The crew was prompt, hard-working and efficient, and their clean-up was meticulous. The communication and customer service support from the office staff was excellent.
This is one of the best experiences we’ve ever had with home repair/remodeling, and we would not hesitate to recommend this company.”
